WHERE AND WHEN DOES CITYLIGHT GATHER ON SUNDAYS?

We meet on Sundays at 1040 Beach Avenue at 10:00 AM. Our services are approximately 75 minutes in length. We’d love to have you visit!

WHAT HAPPENS IN A SUNDAY SERVICE?

Our 75 minute worship services is composed of five elements:

  • Scripture Reading

  • Singing

  • Prayer

  • Sermon from the Bible

  • Communion

WHAT DO I WEAR?

We do not make a big deal out of clothing styles, so feel free to dress how you are comfortable. Those who worship at CityLight Church dress in a variety of ways, though most dress quite casually.

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?

We begin our service with a time of singing for adults and children together. Following the singing time are some announcements and a time of prayer. After this, Children ages 4-10 are dismissed to their kid’s program downstairs; parents/guardians must sign in their children in the church lobby. If you’d prefer, you are very welcome to keep your children with you during the service! The adults have a Bible teaching time upstairs during this time, while the children have a Bible lesson and some fun activities downstairs. The children are brought back upstairs with their parents after the sermon is finished to join their parents for a closing song and as we take the Lord’s Supper together. If parents feel their child is ready for communion (and baptism) and understand the significance of these ordinances, they should meet with a pastor before their child takes communion.

Our CityLight Kids program is staffed by trained volunteers who have all completed Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector checks with the Winnipeg Police. Your child’s safety is our number one priority!

For children over 10 years old, we have a fun worksheet to help keep them engaged during the Bible teaching time upstairs! Please grab a clipboard from the table as soon as you walk into the worship centre.

If you prefer your younger child (4-10) to stay with you rather than go downstairs, please know that is more than okay! Kids may make noise sometimes, but that is just an encouraging reminder that we have little ones among us and we believe children are a blessing from the Lord! Feel free to grab a clipboard from the table for your younger children as well if they are staying with you.

For children under 4, there is an unstaffed nursery available for parents/guardians to use with their kids. Also, if a parent/guardian stays with their younger children, they are welcome to sit in on the older kids’ CityLight Kids program.
